Two educational botanical models of mushrooms, handcrafted from polychrome papier-mâché and mounted on black wooden bases. These models come from an old Austrian educational institution, as indicated by the original labels with the inscription:

"Eicenthum der Schule zu Mönchsdorf."

This inscription is an important clue to the dating: the word "Eicenthum" is an archaic form of "Eigentum" (meaning "property" in German). The presence of the obsolete letter "h" suggests a date between 1800 and the early 1900s, a period during which German spelling underwent significant reforms.

Their realistic detail and artisanal craftsmanship make them rare pieces of great historical value, perfect for collectors, museums, and botany scholars.

They can be purchased individually for €150, or a pair for €250.

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, papier-mâché botanical models were essential tools for science teaching in European schools and universities.

Each piece was modeled and painted by hand to faithfully reproduce the characteristics of the species represented.

Since microscopy was not yet widespread, these models allowed students to study fungal morphology on a large scale.

International shipping is available; models will be carefully packaged to protect them during transport.
